The BMIOA "Branded Products" program is what the entire Ostrich industry has been asking for and what our consumers demand. This program is quite comprehensive and ensures a quality and consistent end-product result that is most uniform and marketable.

This program is ideal for large farmer groups, processor cooperatives, and Ostrich Associations that are producing and marketing Ostrich products in their local areas. It also allows these groups to work with one another to fill orders and cooperatively market their products as the products are all of the same uniformity, consistency and high quality.

This "Branded Product" program also provides a strong marketing and advertising "tool" whereby groups working to produce the same high quality product can all market that product under the same customer recognizeable label.

Basis of the BMIOA "Branded Product" Program

1. In order for any Ostrich product to be packaged under the label of Blue Mountain Ostrich Meats, Blue Mountain Ostrich Leather, or Blue Mountain Ostrich Oil, the individual farmer(s) producing the birds yielding those products must be a "BM NUTRITION CERTIFIED" farmer.

2. Individual farmers raising birds can get the BM Nutrition Certification by applying to BMIOA for that status "On-Line". This certification application requires the farmer to report the total number of birds in his Breeder, Chicks, and Grower groups. The application also requires that the farmer agree to the following:

"We certify that we have raised our Ostrich using feed products manufactured by Blue Mountain Feeds, Inc. adhering to their specific feeding recommendations and have not altered them in any manner. We also warrant that our Ostriches have not been fed any Growth Hormones, Steroids, or Animal Protein Products."

3. The BMIOA, working closely with Blue Mountain Feeds, Inc., will closely monitor the feed purchases versus the number of birds reported by the individual farmer on the certification application. This is reviewed as often as every calendar quarter and Blue Mountain will ask for periodic updates from the farmer bird numbers. If there is a discrepancy, the farmer is contacted and the matter goes under total review.

4. BMIOA works with processors to ensure that "only" BM Nutritionally Certified from BM Nutrition Certified farmers are packaged under the BMIOA "Brand Product" labels. BMIOA also works with processors to ensure that BMIOA "Standards" were used while processing the birds into BMIOA "Branded Products".

This Program Assures High Quality, Consistency, and Uniformity of Product Between All Branded Product Users!

Example Ostrich Meat Certification

To the left is an example Ostrich Meat certification logo that can be used on packages, boxes, or advertising.

Displaying this logo means that the product within was certified by BMIOA as only coming from BM Nutrition Certified birds or farmers and that the product was produced using BMIOA Standards all throughout the production chain.

Only BMIOA Member farmers can apply for "BM Nutrition Certified" status for their birds and farm.

Only BMIOA Member processors and distributors can apply for BMIOA "Branded Product" status.

Only BM Nutrition Certified birds can be processed and packed under the BMIOA "Branded Products" labels.

The BMIOA Branded Products program is a fee based program with a valid License Agreement between BMIOA and the entity desiring to use the Licensed Product Labels. The License Fees vary depending on the amount of work and expense to be performed by BMIOA to ensure the product packaged under the Licensed Labels conforms to the BMIOA Product Quality Standards.
